On May 4th, I am standing to be the next District Councillor for Walcott, Bacton, Witton and Ridlington.
I am the Chair of Walcott Parish Council, proudly serving my community and leading many exciting projects for the future. Now, I hope to build on this experience and help make sure that our area starts to get its fair share from North Norfolk District Council.
One point I would like to focus on during the coming months is the impact tourism has on our communities. I know that tourism brings many benefits to seaside villages like ours, but we also need to ensure that full-time residents are not negatively affected by the number of visitors we receive. I would like to see an assessment undertaken by the Cromer-based District Council to review the impacts of tourism on our seaside communities to allow for evidence-based decisions to be taken in the future.
I would also like to focus on the economic development of both the Bacton Ward and the wider district, to ensure that we continue to grow the opportunities for well-paid and secure employment. By working with significant employers, such as the Bacton Gas Terminal, we can, in particular, ensure that our young people have the very best chance at thriving in their careers whilst remaining in North Norfolk.
I hope you choose to support me in delivering for our villages, our home.
