On 4th May I will be standing to be our next District Councillor in St Benet Ward; covering the villages of Horning and Ludham.
Ludham is my home. 5 generations of my family have lived right by the river, it is the place I grew up, the place I hold dearest. That is exactly why I decided to stand to become your next District Councillor.
I previously owned retail businesses across Norfolk, Suffolk and Essex, before retraining to become involved in low-carbon energy production. I was the director of a company which built a bio-mass power station at Snetterton - staying close to my desire to ensure we protect our environment for future generations. I then became a tutor at a business and management development consultancy in Norwich. I want to bring these two areas of my background to the role of District Councillor. I want the Broads to be a commercial, yet sustainable location. A fine balance between the environment, business and agriculture needs to be struck to allow all three of these important local considerations to grow and prosper.
Having been born here in Ludham, and seeing many changes over the past 50 years, I am passionate about preserving the traditional elements of The Broads. I'm equally aware that more needs to be done to protect local residents, to sustain their ability to live, work and retire in our beautiful corner of North Norfolk.
I'm already engaged with much that goes on in the area, serving as a Ludham Parish Councillor, a Trustee of both the Broads Society and Womack Staithe, and as a Flood Warden.
I hope that you will place your trust in me to serve on North Norfolk District Council to protect our home.
