On 4th May, I'm standing to be your next District Councillor for the Wells with Holkham Ward.
Wells-next-the-Sea is a town I know well. I already have the honour of serving you as your Norfolk County Councillor, and now I want to ensure we get a fair deal from North Norfolk District Council. Through my role as your County Councillor, I know the issues which affect our community and I'm determined to get to the bottom of them.
The reason I considered standing as a local councillor is quite simple, I care. I care about our communities, our people and our way of life here in North Norfolk. In my professional life, I have worked as a senior carer for the past six years, and I'm now training as a student nurse. This is why I will work tirelessly with Duncan Baker MP to push for a rebuild of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Through this time, I have grown more passionate about delivering the support people need as quickly and efficiently as possible. If elected in May, I assure you that this drive will only continue to grow.
We all know of the pressures that tourism places on our town - these are pressures that need to be addressed. Of course, there are substantial benefits that our strong tourist trade provides, but we need to ensure that our year-round, existing residents are not negatively affected. We have also recently seen the disappointing decision that Polka day-care will be closing - a service that I know local parents depend on so very much. Our MP, Duncan Baker, has been pushing for services to be retained from the outset of this saga, and I will support him at every opportunity to make sure that Wells families aren't left without the support they need.
If you choose to elect me on the 4th May, I will do all I can to make our home, our town, a better place to live, work and retire.
