On 4th May I am proud to be standing to become your next District Councillor in Happisburgh Ward.
I grew up in the next-door village, Dilham, and I am the 4th generation to run our family farm. Since taking over from my father, I have worked hard to introduce sustainable farming practices, and as of this year, our farm is now carbon negative – saving 700 tonnes of carbon per year.
In 2016 we diversified our business and established Dilham Hall Retreats which encompasses a campsite, glamping pods and canoe hire. This provides local jobs and brings tourists into the area to enjoy our nature reserve and the beautiful countryside surrounding it.
I believe in giving back to the world, and doing what I can to help those working hard to improve their communities. I have supported village schools and clubs locally, £2000 for Friends of Worstead School, and raised £6000 for Farm Africa.
We are so fortunate to live in one of the most beautiful areas of the country and it is our responsibility to look after it. If I have the privilege of being elected as your next District Councillor, I will do everything I can to fight for and improve our very special patch of North Norfolk.
